Crane Signal Person Training Course
OSHA has issued new crane safety regulations that are in effect as of November 8, 2010. These new regulations require any person giving hand or voice/radio signals to a crane operator on construction sites to have proper qualifications and be evaluated by a qualified person. OSHA requires that each crane signal person complete a verbal or written test and a practical evaluation.
This Crane Signal Person Course has been custom designed to provide the necessary training for participants to comply with the new OSHA Signal Person Qualification requirements described in 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC OSHA regulations and ASME B30.5. The course includes an in-depth review of hand and voice/radio signals and signaling procedures to be used with a variety of cranes and circumstances commonly encountered in construction environments. The course includes a written exam and a short hands-on practical evaluation exercise to ensure participants can adequately apply the proper crane signals. Each participant must pass the written exam and participate in the practical evaluation exercise to receive a completion card.

SafeDay recommends this course for all personnel that are responsible for providing hand or voice signals to crane operators. Supervisors, Managers, Safety Managers, and other personnel responsible for supervising crane operations in construction environments should also attend this course.
